How can we change the conversation around breastfeeding and paid family leave?
I applied and was accepted to the fantastic hackathon 'Make the Breast Pump Not Suck' which aims to change the conversation around breastfeeding and paid family leave.
I participated with the nonprofit Indigenous Women Rising as a pattern-maker and sewist to redesign their traditional dress to allow mothers to more easily breastfeed - particularly during ceremonial events, so they can fully participate without having to leave or not attend the event to breastfeed. I also provided web design guidance as part of communicating their organization’s goals.
